Comparison Review

Comfort
The Ford Edge offers a bit more room for passengers in the back seat than the Ford Explorer. The Ford Explorer offers just a little more front head- and legroom than the Ford Edge, offering the driver and front passenger a bit more room and comfort.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Ford Edge will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Ford Explorer.

Dimensions
Since the Ford Edge is much slimmer than the Ford Explorer, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the Ford Edge, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Ford Explorer.

Performance
In terms of towing capacity, the Ford Explorer is clearly the choice over the Ford Edge for pulling heavy loads. The Ford Edge has a little less horsepower than the Ford Explorer.

Powertrain
With its lower torque engine, the Ford Edge doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Ford Explorer.

Utility
The Ford Edge has less seating than the Ford Explorer, making the Ford Explorer the better choice, if you need to chauffeur many passengers.
